Convention Scholarship Applications Available Now

Linked below are application forms for Twenty-Fourth District PTA’s convention scholarship for the 2024 California State PTA Convention.

Up to four $250 scholarships will be awarded by District PTA for our local leaders to use to attend the convention being held in Ontario, CA from May 3-5, 2024. Note that scholarships MAY be used for part-time attendance. Please see the scholarship application for more information about what it may be used for and the reporting requirements for recipients. You can find more information about the convention itself here: https://capta.org/programs-events/convention/

Scholarship applications are due no later than midnight Pacific time on Friday, March 15th and may be emailed to leadership@24thpta.org. If you have any questions, need additional information, or are unable to return your application via email, please reach out to Melinda Kirkland, VP of Leadership at leadership@24thpta.org or to Lauren Madonna, District President at president@24thpta.org, for assistance.

TELECONFERENCING TIPS FROM 

CALIFORNIA STATE PTA

As we continue to shelter in place, teleconferencing and video conferencing have become the default medium for connecting with anyone outside our own homes: friends, family, teachers and our PTA community.

To help you navigate all the tools, programs, processes and platforms that allow us to connect “virtually,” let us guide you to some resources:

  • On the COVID-19 Resources for PTA Leaders page on the California State PTA website there are valuable sections on Teleconferencing Guidelines, Frequently Asked Questions for Meetings Via Teleconference, and a list of Teleconferencing and Video Conferencing Tools.
  • On April 2 we hosted a one-hour webinar titled “Tools and Best Practices for Virtual Meetings” where we discussed how to manage audio calls, teleconferences, and video conferences for maximum success and effectiveness during these challenging times.
